
Applications are now being accepted for the TCDSB’s Focus on Youth program. The FOY program provides TCDSB students living within the identified Neighbourhoods Improvement Areas with the opportunity to earn two secondary credits (Coop) while they are employed with the FOY program during the summer.
Program snapshot:
The program provides employment opportunities for approximately 250 TCDSB students in the following placement areas:
¨ Custodial (July 3rd – August 10th) up to 29 days (including one paid day of training -6 weeks)
¨ Clerical or Work with Community Organizations Delivering Child and Youth Programming (July 4th - August 11th) up to 29 days. (including one paid day for training -6 weeks)
Students will have an opportunity to work for up to 6 weeks during the summer and will earn $14/hour.

Clerical Positions, Camp counsellors for 2018

Toronto Catholic District School Board’s Focus on Youth Program for the summer of 2018: The following information is presented for reference:
Eligibility
Minimum age for summer students is 16 years of age; as of June 1st, 2018
Must be currently enrolled in a TCDSB Secondary School, - TCDSB students entering College or University and continuing in the fall 2018 school , will be considered. (proof of enrolment to be provided upon request)
Students can earn 2 credits: Leadership and /or Co-op credits
Live in one of the identified Neighbourhood Improvement Areas. (Priority Area) identified on the map (Consideration will be given to students living in close proximity to identified neighbourhoods).
Be reliable, demonstrating the capacity to complete assignments and showing a good record of attendance.
Students must be available to work for the entire hiring period including training.
•Number of students to be hired has not yet been finalized
•Please do not complete more than one application form per person
• Rate of pay is upto $14/hr plus statutory holiday pay and vacation pay
•Hours of work are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with one half hour for lunch and two
fifteen minute breaks for custodial positions. The hours for camp counsellors positions fluctuate
•only successful candidates will be contacted by telephone or email
•Completed online applications, credit summary and recommendation letter by a recognized community member: a teacher, community leader, priest, etc.( NO PARENTS, FRIENDS OR RELATIVEs)
